Re-cycling is essential. The other side of resource care is to buy less, and this is where sharing comes in, particularly on items resource heavy and use light - such as DIY equipment and seasonal items. According to one site, an average drill only gets used for 20 minutes in its life.

A number of websites have sprung up to help sharing - but the possibilities for local community sharing seem to make the logistics easier.
